Last Friday, Nashville, TN-based singer-songwriter Ervin Stellar announced the release of a new EP, Nothing To Prove. Consisting of five tracks, the EP mixes a few originals with two covers, Jonathan Edward’s “Shanty” and Creedence Clearwater Revival’s “Who’ll Stop The Rain.” The latter is a unique, down-tempo version that, remarkably, revivals the original for sheer beauty, and you can listen to that one below the article.
Stellar also last Friday released from the forthcoming EP a single, “Love is Love,” which comes just after the title track. The song was premiered by Folk Radio UK, who described the piece as having “hints of Dylan circa 1965,” and that “the melody fits well for an equally easy-going number.” Certainly, fans of Dylan might very well enjoy Stellar’s music, as well as fans of the modern, sleepier styles of the likes of Josh Ritter or John Craigie. At the top of the article there is the official stream of “Love is Love” that you can check out as well.
