Fans of funk music will be dancing on over to Saint Augustine next weekend. Saint Augustine Amphitheater will be hosting Fool’s Paradise, a two day event taking place March 31-April 1. Lettuce, a funk titan with hip hop influences, will be playing both days before heading off for three dates in Japan. Joe Russo’s Almost Dead, Organ Freeman, Manic Science, The Main Squeeze, and The Floozies round out the lineup. The event is being thrown by Live for Live Music, in conjunction with Purple Hat Productions and Silver Wrapper ,who are responsible for Suwannee Hulaween. The venue is General Admission with the exception of VIP seating, and patrons are allowed to come and go as they please. This lovely rule will allow for refreshing swims at the nearby beaches.
Even though there is no camping on site, there are local campgrounds and numerous hotels available within the United States’ oldest city. Elks Lodge, a ten-minute walk from the amphitheater, will be hosting the late night shows for an additional cost. The first night will showcase an infinity jam with Eric Krasno and Oteil Burbridge, Eric Krasno Band, and Jaw Gems. The second night will showcase Dumpstaphunk and Fools for Funk, which includes members of Lettuce and Dumpstaphunk. Fans can also partake in excursions with their favorite band members, including the Shady Horns DJ Set at Sea, putt-putt golf with members of Lettuce, Vulfpeck, and The Motet, and a Ping Pong Tournament with members of Lettuce. We are gearing up to let our freak flags fly in the name of funk down in Florida.
