The String Cheese Incident has quite the weekend planned in Asheville, NC on July 1-2, and keyboardist Kyle Hollingsworth is adding to the fun with something more than appropriate for Beer City USA – Kyle’s Brew Fest.
Hollingsworth will team up with charity organization Conscious Alliance to host Kyle’s Brew Fest, the Official SCI Pre-Party on July 2 from 1pm-5pm at New Mountain Asheville. The master keyboardist is a brewer himself, and a huge craft beer advocate. He has been hosting these events for seven years, becoming very popular before SCI’s performances at Red Rocks Amphitheatre, but this is the first time the party will come to Asheville.
“Asheville is a huge beer town, so I’m trying to put on a beer festival before our event.” Hollingsworth told The Poke Around in May, “I’m excited about Asheville. Great town, reminds me a little bit of Boulder with the mountains there, but also with the craft beer aspect.”
Kyle’s Brew Fest benefits Conscious Alliance, a nonprofit organization based out of Boulder, CO that uses art as an incentive to inspire people to donate food and funds. Conscious Alliance operates through a three-tier approach: emergency food relief to communities across the United States; empowerment programs for youth in impoverished regions of the country; and nutrition, exercise and gardening education for youth in economically isolated Native American reservations.
The organization is selling/exchanging posters for canned food for the entirety of String Cheese Incident’s summer tour as well as Electric Forest Festival, Widespread Panic at Red Rocks and High Sierra Music Festival.
A ticket to Kyle’s Brew Fest in Asheville includes an exclusive performance by Kyle Hollingsworth Band and very special guests, a limited edition drinking vessel, craft beer tasting and access to a Silent Auction featuring rock memorabilia from the scene’s favorite artists.
Tickets are $30 in advance and $35 the day of the show. All proceeds benefit Conscious Alliance. You can buy tickets here.
