We’re at the midpoint of 2020, and if you’re caught in a weird place between enjoying the nice days of summer and worrying about what a chaotic year it’s been, then we have just the music video for you! Stream “Shanti the Dolphin” from Kendall Street Company, a brand new music video from the five-piece, groove rock band that puts ominous lyrics about a dolphin down on his luck financially behind a great, funky track and some very cool animation.
Coming out of Charlottesville, Virginia, Kendall Street Company have been progressively securing their presence in the jam scene with great releases and impressive live performances. A few years ago, they made a grand introduction to the scene by opening LOCKN’ Music Festival. Since then, they have performed at other big time events like Resonance Music Festival and Domefest, and have toured with bands like Umphreys McGee and Leftover Salmon.
The new music video, which comes as part of the band’s recently released EP The Nautical Aquatical, boasts brilliant use of background vocals, a full horn section, and more, making for one of the grooviest song releases this summer so far. The animation is also delightfully vibrant, but interestingly at odds with lyrics that leave us just a little worried for this Shanti character.
You can find Kendall Street Company’s new EP on any music streaming platform, and also be sure to look out for possible future touring dates from the band, as they’ve been able to perform live recently in socially distant fashion. In the meantime, stream the new music video for “Shanti the Dolphin” below, and for more information, visit the band’s website here.
