Genre-defining five piece jamtronica leaders Lotus are northeast bound this week, starting with a performance tonight at The Westcott Theatre in Syracuse, NY. After hitting Cohoes and Rochester, the band will play two huge nights this weekend at the one and only Higher Ground in Burlington, VT. The last date, which will serve as an end to the band’s 2019 fall tour, will be debut appearance at The Fillmore in Philadelphia. Opening for them that evening will be Philly’s own psychedelic jazz three piece Muscle Tough.
Lotus have been tearing through 2019 since since releasing their dynamite new record, Frames Per Second, earlier this year. Over the course of the last few tours, they performed a landmark show at The Caverns in Pelham, Tennesse, returned for two highly-lauded nights at their self-hosted festival Summerdance, and found the time somehow to put out a mini documentary film feature about the new album. They also played a wildly creative Ghost-themed Halloween show at the Belly Up in Aspen, CO and, to make it even cooler, released that show for free on their official bandcamp page. If you haven’t spun that fantastic two set night yet, check it out below.
On board with the band for the duration of the northeast run will be Philly-based electronic trio Wax Future. Check out their song “What You Do To Me” below for a taste of their great vibe. At the end of next month, Lotus also looks ahead to a huge NYE run, hitting Brookyln, Pittsburgh, Boston, and then a final two-night run at Ram’s Head in Baltimore. Hartford-based jam trio Lespecial will open each of those five nights.
