When we talk about influential, formative jambands, the name Max Creek always goes near the top of the list. No exceptions. The tireless, ever-loveable five-member ensemble has been rocking their way through their forty-fifth year as a touring band, including return performances at seminal, self-hosted events like Wormtown and Strangecreek, but also notable appearances at places like moe.down, Levon Helm Studios, and others.
Somehow, it’s occurred that in this most recent quarter of their forty-five years, Max Creek hasn’t yet played the east coast Deadhead paradise island that is Garcia’s at The Capitol Theatre in Port Chester. But that, thank the hippie heavens, finally changes next week, on Friday, October 25, when the band makes their grand debut there. And with an onslaught of Creek family and friends, and lovers in general of free-spirited psychedelic rock and roll, also head there next week, you can be sure that it will be a night to remember for a long time.
An exiting bit of news that came out this week for the event is the chance for fans to win free entry into the show as well as a place to crash afterwards. Running until Monday night, when a winner will selected, Garcia’s has a contest underway to win two tickets for Max Creek’s performance along with a free night’s stay at Courtyard by Marriot Rye, only minutes from the venue. To enter to that contest, which you can do until Sunday, head to this link here.
