Roots folk artist Garrett Dutton, better known by his stage name G. Love, announced today the inauguration of his own festival, called Cape Cod Roots and Blues Festival. Set to debut on September 15, the one-day event will take place on the shore of Nauset Beach in Orleans, MA.
Currently billed for the festival’s lineup are alternative singer-songwriter Citizen Cope, soul singer Ron Artis II with his band The Truth, and Boston-based funk-pop outfit Ripe. Also on the bill is Hog Island Beer Co, the official beer provider of the festival, which plans to have a beer garden for festival patrons to enjoy throughout the day. September 15 also marks the twenty-fifth anniversary of G. Love and Special Sauce, so the festival should no doubt bring out an especially memorable performance from the host artists.
A portion of ticket sales for the event will go to benefit the non-profit Friends of Nauset Beach, which seeks to preserve the natural habitat, wildlife, and fauna of the Outer Cape.
Tickets are on sale now, which you can purchase by clicking here.
