Mapache, the “West Coast Cosmic Americana” duo consisting of guitarists and singers Clay Finch and Sam Blasucci, have released a brand new video today for their single, “Lonesome LA Cowboy.” The track is the duo’s modern take on the tune originally written and performed by New Riders of the Purple Sage, and you can stream the new video for the cover below.
The single comes from Mapache’s new 3-song EP which will be released tomorrow on June 8. The EP is the duo’s follow up to their 2017 self-titled debut album, and like the first one it was produced by Circles Around The Sun’s Dan Horne.
Also today, the duo are kicking off what will be a long summer tour across the U.S. The first leg, covering much of California, will be in support of Nicki Bluhm, while the rest of the tour will see shows with garage folk rock outfit Howlin’ Rain and hardcore Dead tribute act Grateful Shred (of whom Finch and Blasucci are members).
