Spafford are set to release their sophomore studio effort, For Amusement Only, next Friday on May 4. Today as a preview they have released a new lyric video for the album’s “Leave the Light On,” created by Wulfenbear Media, which you can stream here below. In addition to this, the band will also be hyping their album release with a The Jam Files session with SiriusXM’s JamOn. Air times for those are also listed below.
For the past few years, Spafford have been championing their live show, with extensive tours and sets at big festivals helping to craft their unique approach to jamming—many fans know “Leave the Light On” for its typically adventurous, improvisational nature in a live set. But, such as in the case of other highly followed jambands of the past, new studio material is a whole other, sometimes rarer gem. So this new body of studio-recorded material comes as a big deal for the band’s fans.
The lyric video for “Leave the Light On” is a cool one, with a stark, visual simplicity that matches the ebb and flow of the song’s grooves well. While at first fun footage of the band and wilderness mirrors the delicate and meditative build up, by the video’s end its fire and sparkling imagery dominating the intensity of the last few choruses. Take a look and a listen below!
The single is now streaming on all platforms, and pre-order for For Amusement Only is currently underway. Be sure to catch Spafford’s The Jam Files session with SiriusXM’s Jam On, which will air all next week, times listed below.
