Coming back for its second year, Festival at the Farm returns this weekend to Prowse Farm in Canton, MA on Saturday, Sept. 16 and Sunday, Sept. 17.
Hosted by Pete and Gerry’s Organic Eggs, Festival at the Farm looks to be one of those perfect-size, getting-all-the-angles-right kind of weekend events. Featuring locally grown food, in both special culinary workshops and an organic farmer’s market, and a family-friendly atmosphere across a truly beautiful outdoor space, it’s one you may definitely not want to miss if you can help it.
Especially because the Canton, MA fest is also offering quite the incredible music lineup for only its second year. Both days of the weekend will provide a cool blend of progressive Americana and modern soul acts. Saturday will feature a headlining set from none other than current titans of funk Lettuce, and will also keep the day moving with performances from on the rise groups like Brett Dennen, The Ballroom Thieves, Dwight and Nicole, and Lee Fields and the Expressions. Sunday will be following up in style, with some more of the state’s finest in folk and bluegrass like Session Americana, Twisted Pine, and sets from multiple solo superstars Ryan Montbleau, Kat Wright, and Martin Sexton Trio. The festival will then finish up on Sunday with sets from a couple of performers that are truly riding the stratosphere of success lately: soulful Americana rockers The Wood Brothers, followed by the young wunderkind blues guitarist Marcus King, with his band.
While music events of both major and minor size will rage well on into the fall, there are just a handful of great festivals happening around right now that will offer that last bit of feel good, summer magic. Festival at the Farm, with all it has to offer, looks like it will be one of those this weekend. Head over to the festival’s website below to find out more and to purchase tickets.
