It’s finally time for The Summer Meltdown, as thousands of music lovers are trekking towards Darrington, Washington to enjoy some fine tunes and beautiful outdoor bliss at Whitehorse Mountain Amphitheater.
Coming off a smokin’ six-set weekend at Element Music Festival, The String Cheese Incident will be headlining this event with one huge set Saturday night, and a two-set party to close out Sunday night. SCI has been steadily building on momentum gained from their heralded tours earlier this year, and so far, the summer shows have been very well received.
“I have been feeling like the shows have all been really fun,” said Michael Kang in a May interview with The Poke Around, “We’ve had a blast, so that for me is the true gauge of where things are at. If we’re really enjoying ourselves on stage, then I know that translates to the music and the fans because that’s how it’s always been.”
For all the Cheeseheads out there that can’t swing the whole weekend, they are offering a Saturday-Sunday ticket to Summer Meltdown, as well as a single day ticket on Sunday to catch both sets of The String Cheese Incident.
In addition to SCI, Meltdowners will have the chance to catch The Infamous Stringdusters, Elephant Revival, The Wailers, The Polish Ambassador, Nahko and Medicine for the People, Shook Twins, The Floozies, Polyrhythmics, Boombox and much more.
Between all that great music, relax by the lazy Stillaguamish River, or go for a hike, or better yet, take advantage of Meltdown’s partnered horseback riding and helicopter tours.
