The Werks are making a heated run down the east coast, and tomorrow they make a pit stop in Asheville to play a jam/funk-filled show with Russ Liquid and Funk You at Asheville Music Hall.
Hot off of their Winter Werk Out Festival and with a new LP coming out next month, The Werks are continuing to ride their now 10 year wave as a band in the jam music scene. These Dayton, Ohio natives are sure to bring a high energy show with psychedelic grooves around every corner.
Russ Liquid will be an exciting addition to the headlining act. Known as The Russ Liquid Test, this brass-infused electronic sound hailing from New Orleans is innovative and jazzy as ever, coming from the mind of brass specialist Russell Scott with support from guitarist Andrew Block and drummer Deven Trusclair. The show will go to new heights if Russ Liquid and The Werks are to share the stage.
Hailing from Augusta, Georgia, Funk You is exactly what you want to hear out of a high-energy funk outfit with powerful vocals, except so much more. With musical influence coming from Umphrey’s McGee, Stevie Wonder, and James Brown, to name a few, these Relix Magazine 2013 “artists on the rise” should not be missed tomorrow night at Asheville Music Hall.
Doors open at 9 p.m.
