Keller Williams’ Thanksforgrassgiving will take place in DC on Friday, November 25th at the 9:30 Club, and on Saturday, November 26th in Richmond, Virginia at The National, to help celebrate America’s holiday with some “face melting bluegrass,” as the website asserts.
Williams (guitar) will be joined by an all-star bluegrass ensemble of Jeff Austin (mandolin), Nicky Sanders (fiddle), Danton Boller (bass), Jay Starling (dobro). Love Canon will open for both shows this weekend, with Williams expected to sit in on both sets.
This is the second year of Keller’s new Thanksforgrassgiving tradition, which invites you to put on your stompin’ shoes and work that family feast off. “So kiss your granny on the forehead and tell her you’ll see her on Sunday cuz it’s time to clog,” as KW would say.
Last week, Williams was featured in a video with fellow one-man act, Zach Deputy on Jambase, on the subject of our current social climate. The video for “If you’re Bananas, I’m Plantains” was recorded on the fire escape at The Orange Peel in Asheville, while Deputy was supporting the Keller Williams’ Kwahtro tour.
