Twiddle will grace Philadelphia for a two night run on Friday and Saturday nights this weekend at the Theater of the Living Arts on South Street. After a busy summer on the festival scene and a fall tour out West, Twiddle has put together a Thanksgiving 2016 tour that kicks off Friday at the TLA, followed by a two-night Thanksgiving weekend run in Boston. Twiddle will be performing with The Jauntee and Lespecial on several stops, but open this Friday night with the Kitchen Dwellers and Saturday with Lespecial.
Twiddle’s popularity has grown at a meteoric rate. Based out of Vermont, this musically diverse quartet knows how to defy the laws of classification, simultaneously playing from jazz, classical, bluegrass, reggae and funk influences. Their fans are extremely loyal and enthusiastic, usually dressing up in anything from mouse ears to orange Twiddle stickers.
Saturday’s show opens with Lespecial, a trio of friends from Connecticut by way of Boston who have been together since forming as each member’s first band. They describe themselves as a death funk dance trio with a glitchy electronic twist, and after seeing Lespecial live, most could agree they describe themselves well. They have a bit of an EDM sound, but all of their music is created and performed live. The group has gained a following through its residency at Catskill Chill and Jibberjazz events.
There are one and two day tickets available online here.
