Love Canon, the bluegrass rock band out of Charlottesville, Virginia will be gracing Asheville with their presence twice in the upcoming month. Known for using their Blue Ridge Mountain musical roots to put a grassy twist on classic 80s rock songs, the band has garnered an enthusiastic and diverse fan base nationwide. Love Canon will be playing a free show in West Asheville on September 9th for the weekly RiverMusic Concert series, and then again at The Biltmore Estate on September 30th.
“Charlottesville is very similar to Asheville, just the vibe you know, it being a southern town in the mountains and it’s a little bit more progressive than other places,” said frontman and guitarist Jesse Harper in an interview with The Poke Around.
Love Canon has been to Asheville many times over the years, but never at the popular RiverMusic venue alongside the French Broad River, or at The Biltmore Estate, the largest home in America.
“We have never played at either one of these venues and we love coming to Asheville. We’ve played the last few years at Christmas Jam and have a lot of buddies down there, so we really enjoy getting to play there,” Harper said.
If you are in the Asheville area this month and looking for some nostalgic fun and dancing at the hands of seriously blistering bluegrass, Love Canon is your answer, as Harper explains, “the basic principle of this group is fun, it’s silly, and it’s something you wanna do with your friends.”
