Pisgah Brewing Company hit a home run with their very first Jam In The Trees last weekend. Friends and family flocked to Black Mountain, North Carolina for an unforgettable weekend of bluegrass and folk music amongst the beautiful Blue Ridge mountains.
After kicking things off with an evening of Willie Watson and Tellico, the fun got underway early on Saturday morning with Mark Bumgarner accompanied by fresh-baked biscuits. With both indoor and outdoor stages pumping out music at full force throughout the day, highlights of the afternoon indoors included The Secret Sisters and Savannah Smith. The Piedmont region of North Carolina was represented with some potent pickers as Mipso and Chatham County Line took over the main stage during the late afternoon.
Legends of bluegrass and Americana music, The Del McCoury Band played a classic set full of the spontaneous joking and loving laughter that everyone loves to see from the McCoury family, and the top-notch playing that has set the bluegrass bar for years. Once the sun went down, the Pisgah pit was nice and muddy, and after overcoming some minor technical difficulties The Wood Brothers delivered a phenomenal show to close the ceremonies.
