Catskill Chill Music Festival has announced some exciting changes in store for its seventh year, set to take place on September 23-25, 2016. An incredible lineup will play at the festival’s new host grounds, New Minglewood, a private summer camp in Lakewood, Pennsylvania.
Catskill Chill will be headlined by Phish bassist Mike Gordon, accompanied by musicians Robert Walter, Scott Murawski, John Kimock and Craig Myers. Greensky Bluegrass will be bringing their revolutionary sound and signature energy to the Chill for the first time. Keller Williams’ coveted Grateful Grass project will be playing everyone’s favorite Dead tunes with the creative twist that only Keller can provide. Fans will have two chances to catch Break Science, one with a live band comprised of members of funk-powerhouse Lettuce, and another more electronically focused set of the original duo.
From top to bottom, the lineup features some of the choicest artists from all over the funk and jam band spectrum, including Dopapod, Goldfish, Perpetual Groove, Deep Banana Blackout, Kung Fu, The Werks, Particle, Zach Deputy, Ryan Montbleau, Orgone, The Nth Power, The Main Squeeze, Pink Talking Fish, TAUK, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, Roosevelt Collier’s NY Get Down, Tom Hamilton’s American Babies, The Heavy Pets tribute to the ‘80’s, Big Something, and many more. Additional artists will be announced on June 8th.
Festival organizers hope that the lakefront property of New Minglewood will be a significant upgrade of the overall experience for attendees, featuring cabins for rent, easy access to the entire venue on paved pathways, covered stages, and free parking and camping. This will be the first year that Catskill Chill’s mainstage will be outside, complemented by communal bonfires every night, a farmers market, local craft and food vendors, and yoga and wellness workshops.
